Category: Miscellaneous and Generic MIBs
Description: Defines management objects for the SC5002 series network device configuration and status.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is SC5002-MIB?
SC5002-MIB is a General DataComm proprietary MIB (built on the shared GDCMACRO-MIB framework, enterprise OID 498) for the SC5002 data communications equipment, covering firmware version and E1/near-end/far-end alarm configuration. Its version table reports active/stored firmware revision and boot revision with a switch-active-firmware action and downloading-mode indicator, a network-configuration table sets E1 signaling mode, and near-end/far-end alarm-configuration tables record alarm identifier, window, and threshold. As a hardware/software-status MIB it lets an administrator confirm firmware revision and audit near-end/far-end alarm thresholds against the intended circuit-quality tolerance. It is deployed on General DataComm SC5002-series equipment. Engineers can download the SC5002-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SC5002-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- General DataComm SC5002-series equipment
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks sc5002NearEndAlarmThreshold against the far-end equivalent to confirm consistent alarm sensitivity is configured on both ends of an SC5002 E1 link.
What Can Be Monitored
- firmware revision
- near-end/far-end alarm thresholds
