Description: Supports the action of soft resetting the unit. When this object is set to reset(1), then the unit performs a soft reset, whose meaning is specific to the type of unit being managed. The value of norm(2) will be returned when the reset is complete.
The value of norm(2) can not be set by management.
What is sc5002SoftReset?
This OID triggers a soft reset of the unit when set to reset(1); the unit reports back norm(2) once the reset completes. Operators use it to remotely recover a unit that's misbehaving without needing a hands-on power cycle.
