Description: Manages IPv6 routing configuration, route tables, and forwarding entries on Quanta Computer switches.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ROUTING6-MIB?

ROUTING6-MIB is a Quanta Computer private MIB (routingIpv6, registered under the switch enterprise branch of Quanta's FastPath-based switch software) that manages IPv6 unicast routing configuration on Quanta switches. It exposes a global routing enable/disable switch (agentIpv6RoutingMode) and a per-interface configuration table, agentIpv6InterfaceTable, covering MTU (agentIpv6InterfaceMtuValue), duplicate-address-detection transmit count (agentIpv6InterfaceDadTransmits), link-local-only operation, ICMPv6 unreachable message generation, and SLAAC/DHCPv6-client behavior (agentIpv6InterfaceAutoconfig, agentIpv6InterfaceDhcpClient). It imports OSPFv3-MIB and OSPF-MIB types (ospfv3IfEntry, ospfv3VirtIfEntry, ospfv3AreaEntry, RouterID, AreaID), indicating the module extends into IPv6 OSPFv3 area/interface configuration alongside basic interface settings. This lets an operator confirm IPv6 routing and address-autoconfiguration behavior per interface and diagnose why an interface isn't forming IPv6 neighbor adjacencies or accepting configuration. It depends on the IPV6-TC, OSPFV3-MIB, OSPF-MIB, and QUANTA-SWITCH-MIB modules, and is deployed on Quanta whitebox switches running IPv6 unicast/OSPFv3 routing; network engineers can consult the ROUTING6-MIB MIB when instrumenting IPv6 routing visibility on these switches.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ROUTING6-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Quanta Computer FastPath-based switches (whitebox/ODM switch platforms)

Monitoring Examples

An operator checks agentIpv6RoutingMode is enabled and then reads agentIpv6InterfaceMtuValue and agentIpv6InterfaceLinkLocalOnly for an uplink interface failing to pass IPv6 traffic; an interface configured link-local-only when a global IPv6 address was expected would explain why it isn't participating in OSPFv3 routing.

What Can Be Monitored

  • global IPv6 routing enable/disable state
  • per-interface MTU and DAD transmit count
  • link-local-only and ICMPv6 unreachable settings
  • SLAAC/DHCPv6 client configuration per interface
  • OSPFv3 interface/area association (via imported types)
