What Is RIVERSTONE-TC-MIB?
RIVERSTONE-TC-MIB is a vendor-private Riverstone Networks MIB that defines textual conventions and enumerated types shared across the company's various product-specific MIB modules. It contains no managed objects, tables, or notifications of its own, serving solely as a common type library for Riverstone's functional MIBs. Opening this module in a RIVERSTONE-TC-MIB MIB Browser session will show only type and enumeration definitions, with no leaf objects to select for polling. It therefore has no direct role in monitoring hardware or software status; that role belongs to the companion Riverstone MIBs (covering system, interface, and routing status) that import these conventions. Its dependency relationship is foundational and inward, with other Riverstone MIB modules relying on it for consistent type definitions. It is used as a structural dependency when deploying SNMP management for Riverstone Networks routers and switches.
