Description: Declares SNMP agent capability statements for Riverstone Networks RS94X series router platforms.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is RIVERSTONE-RS94X-AGENTCAP-MIB?
This is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module published for Riverstone Networks' RS94x series routers, part of the RapidOS 9.4.x software line later absorbed into Enterasys/Extreme Networks product families. Rather than exposing runtime data, it formally declares which standard and enterprise MIB groups, objects, and variations the RapidOS 9.4.x SNMP agent actually implements. It contains no counters, gauges, or status objects of its own and therefore cannot be polled for hardware or software health directly. Its role is purely to help network management stations and MIB compilers determine agent conformance before attempting to query the device's other operational MIBs (interfaces, chassis, routing, etc.). It depends inherently on the AGENT-CAPABILITIES framework from SNMPv2-CONF plus the actual RS94x MIBs it describes, and is typically loaded once during NMS onboarding rather than polled at runtime. Engineers can download the RIVERSTONE-RS94X-AGENTCAP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RIVERSTONE-RS94X-AGENTCAP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Riverstone Networks RS94x series routers/switches
Monitoring Examples
As a conformance-only module built around the rsCapability object, this MIB does not define any monitorable tables or counters. It simply lists which groups from other Riverstone MIBs are supported by RapidOS 9.4.x, so there is no realistic scenario for polling it to reveal an anomaly. It is honestly a capability-declaration module, not a monitoring one.
