Category: MPLS and Traffic Engineering, Nortel Enterprise Data

Description: Manages traffic engineering import policy configuration for MPLS-TE path computation on Nortel network devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is RC-TEImportPolicy-MIB?

RC-TEImportPolicy-MIB is a proprietary MIB (built on RC-SMI) implementing route-map-based Policy-Based Routing with Traffic Engineering (TE) tunnel targets. Its route-map table, keyed by name/index/instance, records a match-ACL reference and a set-interface-tunnel-ID action; a policy-route table binds an interface to a referenced route map; and an ACL table (IPv4 rule ID, source/destination address and wildcard, protocol, source/destination port range) supplies the match criteria. As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm which traffic is policy-routed into a specific TE tunnel on this device. It is deployed on networking equipment implementing this RC-SMI-based policy-routing/TE-tunnel feature. Engineers can download the RC-TEImportPolicy-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RC-TEImportPolicy-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Networking equipment implementing this RC-SMI-based policy-routing/TE-tunnel feature

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks rcRouteMapSetIntfTunnelID and rcIPv4ACLSrcAddr to confirm which traffic is policy-routed into a specific TE tunnel on this device.

What Can Be Monitored

  • policy-based routing and TE-tunnel target configuration
