Description: Provides textual conventions covering RF detection and rogue classification within Enterasys RoamAbout WLAN controller MIBs.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is RBTWS-RF-DETECT-TC?
RBTWS-RF-DETECT-TC is an Enterasys Networks textual-conventions-only MIB module supporting the RoamAbout wireless switch (RBTWS) product line's RF (radio frequency) detection and rogue-device classification features, within the enterprise WLAN security/monitoring area. Rather than defining any managed objects itself, it defines shared data types (TEXTUAL-CONVENTIONs) — such as enumerations for RF signal classification or rogue-device categories — used by other Enterasys wireless MIBs that expose actual runtime RF-detection and rogue-AP data. Because it contains no managed objects, it has no direct role in hardware/software status monitoring on its own; its value is purely as a shared type-definition dependency for other Enterasys wireless-switch MIBs (e.g., an RF-detection or rogue-AP-table MIB) that build their object syntax on these conventions. Its explicit dependency is on being imported by other Enterasys/RoamAbout wireless MIB modules that model actual RF scan/rogue-detection tables. Typical deployment context is Enterasys RoamAbout WLAN controller/switch environments performing wireless intrusion detection and rogue access point classification. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the RBTWS-RF-DETECT-TC file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RBTWS-RF-DETECT-TC. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Enterasys RoamAbout WLAN switches/controllers
Monitoring Examples
This module defines only TEXTUAL-CONVENTION type declarations (e.g., enumerated RF-detection/rogue classification values) and contains no managed objects, tables, or notifications of its own, so no monitoring scenario can be honestly constructed from it in isolation. Its types are consumed by other Enterasys RoamAbout wireless MIBs that define the actual rogue-AP or RF-scan tables an administrator would poll.
