Description: Defines textual conventions for wireless client session attributes in Enterasys RoamAbout WLAN controller MIBs.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is RBTWS-CLIENT-SESSION-TC?

RBTWS-CLIENT-SESSION-TC is an Enterasys Networks textual-conventions MIB used by RoamAbout wireless LAN switch/controller MIB modules to define shared data types describing wireless client session attributes. It contains no monitorable objects itself; it is purely a set of TEXTUAL-CONVENTION type definitions (e.g. for client identifiers, session states, or radio parameters) reused by other Enterasys wireless MIBs. Its relevance to device monitoring is indirect but foundational: it standardizes how wireless client session data such as association state, authentication status, or RF parameters is represented, so higher-level MIBs can expose consistent client-session health and status information for polling. It is explicitly a dependency of other RBTWS-prefixed MIBs on Enterasys wireless controllers, which import these type definitions. It is deployed alongside the broader Enterasys RoamAbout WLAN controller MIB suite on wireless network infrastructure. Engineers can download the RBTWS-CLIENT-SESSION-TC file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RBTWS-CLIENT-SESSION-TC. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Enterasys RoamAbout wireless LAN controller
  • Enterasys wireless switch

Monitoring Examples

This module defines only TEXTUAL-CONVENTIONs and has no sample_objects to poll; instead, other Enterasys wireless MIBs (such as client or session tables) import these types to represent fields like client MAC address format or session state enumerations. An administrator would encounter this MIB only indirectly, when a MIB browser resolves the underlying type of a client-session status object defined in a companion RBTWS client-session table.

What Can Be Monitored

  • wireless client session attribute type definitions (supporting other MIBs' client/session status objects)
