What Is RBTWS-REGISTRATION-CHASSIS-MIB?
RBTWS-REGISTRATION-CHASSIS-MIB is a vendor-specific Enterasys Networks MIB module that defines generic OID registrations for chassis-level hardware components on Enterasys RoamAbout wireless LAN switch/controller platforms. Rather than defining OBJECT-TYPE sensor values itself, it registers a fixed hierarchy of object identifiers — rbtwsChassisComponents, rbtwsChasCompPowerSupplies (with rbtwsChasCompPowerSupply1 and rbtwsChasCompPowerSupply2), and rbtwsChasCompFans (with rbtwsChasCompFan1 through rbtwsChasCompFan3) — that other Enterasys MIBs reference when reporting the presence and health of power supplies and fans. Because the registrations are generic, they apply uniformly across any RoamAbout chassis model that physically has the corresponding component installed. It establishes the stable identifiers that hardware-health MIBs use to report power-supply and fan status per chassis slot, so it is always deployed alongside the broader RBTWS-ROOT-MIB and Enterasys wireless switch management MIB suite rather than standing alone. Network engineers working with Enterasys wireless infrastructure consult the RBTWS-REGISTRATION-CHASSIS-MIB OID hierarchy to map raw index values back to the physical power-supply or fan slot they represent.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RBTWS-REGISTRATION-CHASSIS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Enterasys RoamAbout wireless LAN switch/controller chassis (any model with the corresponding component installed)
Monitoring Examples
An operator cross-references a fan or power-supply OID reported by an Enterasys hardware-health MIB against the rbtwsChasCompFan1/2/3 or rbtwsChasCompPowerSupply1/2 registrations in this MIB to identify which physical slot an alarm belongs to; a registered component OID that never appears in polled hardware-status output would indicate that slot is unpopulated or undetected.
What Can Be Monitored
- power supply slot OID registrations (rbtwsChasCompPowerSupply1/2)
- fan slot OID registrations (rbtwsChasCompFan1/2/3)
- chassis component identifier hierarchy
- cross-reference support for hardware-health MIBs
