Description: Registers OIDs for Enterasys RoamAbout wireless LAN controller access point hardware device types.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is RBTWS-REGISTRATION-DEVICES-MIB?

RBTWS-REGISTRATION-DEVICES-MIB is an Enterasys Networks (RoamAbout wireless) enterprise MIB that exists purely to register OID sub-identifiers for the various wireless LAN controller/switch hardware models in the RoamAbout product line, such as the 8100, 8110, 8200, 8400, and 8500 series switches. Rather than exposing configuration, performance, or fault data, it defines the object-identifier tree used elsewhere (e.g., as sysObjectID values) to identify which specific wireless switch hardware model an agent is running on. It therefore plays only an indirect role in monitoring: an NMS uses these registered OIDs to determine device type/model as part of inventory and hardware identification, rather than polling operational counters. It has no explicit runtime dependency on other data MIBs beyond providing identifiers referenced by them (e.g., sysObjectID or other RBTWS MIBs). It is deployed alongside the broader Enterasys RoamAbout wireless MIB suite in enterprise wireless LAN environments using 8100/8200/8400/8500-series controllers. Engineers can download the RBTWS-REGISTRATION-DEVICES-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RBTWS-REGISTRATION-DEVICES-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Enterasys RoamAbout wireless LAN controllers/switches (8100/8200/8400/8110/8500 series)

Monitoring Examples

This module defines OID branches such as rbtwsSwitch8100, rbtwsSwitch8200, rbtwsSwitch8400, rbtwsSwitch8110, and rbtwsSwitch8500 as identifiers, not as pollable data objects; a management station would see one of these values reflected in a device's sysObjectID to recognize its hardware model, rather than retrieving live status through this MIB itself. There are no counters, tables, or state variables defined here to monitor operational condition.
