What Is RBN-MEMORY-CAP?
RBN-MEMORY-CAP is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module published by Ericsson for the SmartEdge, SM, and SSR families of Multi-service Edge Routers and Metro Ethernet Service Transport platforms (formerly Redback Networks equipment). Rather than exposing runtime data itself, it documents which objects and groups of the companion RBN-MEMORY-MIB are actually implemented on a given SEOS software release and product family. As such it is a conformance/compatibility declaration rather than a live monitoring source, though it exists specifically to support memory usage monitoring (RAM utilization, allocation, and thresholds) elsewhere in the RBN MIB suite. It is entirely dependent on RBN-MEMORY-MIB, whose object and notification groups it profiles per platform and SEOS release. It is typically consulted by NMS tooling during MIB compilation to determine feature support before polling the real memory MIB on Ericsson SmartEdge, SM, or SSR routers. Engineers can download the RBN-MEMORY-CAP file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RBN-MEMORY-CAP. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples
This module is a conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES declaration and defines no runtime monitoring objects itself; sample_objects is empty because it only cross-references groups from RBN-MEMORY-MIB via PRODUCT-RELEASE clauses rather than defining pollable OIDs. An administrator would use it only indirectly, to confirm memory usage objects are supported on a particular SEOS version before attempting to poll them. No realistic monitoring scenario can be honestly constructed from this module alone.
