rcnVlacpPortDown
Module: RAPID-CITY
OID (symbolic): RAPID-CITY::rcnVlacpPortDown
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2272.1.21.0.80
Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE
Description:
A rcnVlacpPortDown trap signifies that Vlacp is down on the port specified.
What is rcnVlacpPortDown?
This notification (alert) is sent when a port's virtual LAG control protocol connection stops working. When monitoring, receiving this alert tells you that a port participating in a virtual link aggregation group has failed. A network operator checks this when ports that should be bonded together for redundancy unexpectedly disconnect.
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' RAPID-CITY::rcnVlacpPortDown snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.2272.1.21.0.80
Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):
snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
Example snmptrapd log entry:
