rcEmError

Module: RAPID-CITY

OID (symbolic): RAPID-CITY::rcEmError

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2272.1.21.23

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description:

A rcEmError trap signifies that the SNMPv2 entity, acting in an agent role, has detected Em error.

What is rcEmError?

This notification (trap) is sent by the device when an EM (Embedded Management) error is detected and the system needs to alert management stations. The trap includes the card index and error details to help operators locate and identify the problem. Network administrators configure trap receivers to be notified of these critical system errors so they can respond quickly to hardware or firmware issues.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' RAPID-CITY::rcEmError
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.2272.1.21.23

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:59330->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (35707330) 4 days, 3:11:13.30
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: RAPID-CITY::rcEmError

SNMPv3 example:

snmptrap -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3user -a SHA -A "AuthPass1" -x AES -X "PrivPass1" <manager> '' RAPID-CITY::rcEmError
