rcDvmrpNewNbrChange
Module: RAPID-CITY
OID (symbolic): RAPID-CITY::rcDvmrpNewNbrChange
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2272.1.21.48
Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE
Description:
A rcDvmrpNewNbrChange trap signifies that a new neighbor has come up on a DVMRP interface.
What is rcDvmrpNewNbrChange?
This OID generates an alert whenever a new multicast routing neighbor device appears on a network interface. A neighbor becoming active usually indicates a new router has been powered on or a broken connection was restored. Network operators receive these alerts to detect topology changes in their multicast networks.
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' RAPID-CITY::rcDvmrpNewNbrChange snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.2272.1.21.48
Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):
snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
