Used to indicate a card types in the Accelar
1000 product families.  

For Accelar 1000 devices, gigabit cards use
an encoded value according to the following rule:

     a : not-used
     b : 1=gigabit
     c : 0=non-redundant, 
         1=redundant
     d : 0=short-haul, 
         1=long-haul, 
         2=extra-distance,
     e : 0=work-group(a1100 & a1150)
         1=back-bone(a1200 & f1250 & f2000), 
     f : 1=1-port, 2=2-port, 4=4-port, 8=8-port
