Description: Manages localization and language settings for the switch management interface.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is RADLAN-LOCALIZATION-MIB?

RADLAN-LOCALIZATION-MIB is a private Marvell/Radlan switch MIB that manages localization and language settings for the switch's management interfaces, both CLI and web-based. It is almost entirely a configuration module, with no hardware or performance data, exposing which language is selected for each management interface and which localization file packages are installed. Its limited monitoring value lies in confirming the software components (language packs) actually loaded on the device, which is a software-status check rather than a hardware one. No notable dependency on other MIBs is apparent from the available data. It is used wherever a switch's management UI must support multiple languages for deployments across different regions. Engineers can download the RADLAN-LOCALIZATION-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RADLAN-LOCALIZATION-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Marvell/Radlan-based managed switch

Monitoring Examples

rlLocalizationLanguage and rlWEBlocalizationLanguage show the currently selected CLI and web-UI languages respectively, while rlLocalizationFiles lists installed localization file packages. This module is largely configuration-only rather than a runtime monitoring one, though an admin could poll rlLocalizationFiles to verify the expected language pack is actually loaded on the device before deployment to a given region.

What Can Be Monitored

  • current CLI language setting
  • current web UI language setting
  • installed localization file packages
