Description: Configures the embedded web server for GUI-based management access on Radlan switches.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is RADLAN-EMBWEB-MIB?

RADLAN-EMBWEB-MIB is a private enterprise MIB from RADLAN Computer Communications, whose embedded switch-management software (EmbWeb) is licensed into many OEM Ethernet switches sold under other brand names. It exposes configuration data for the device's embedded web (HTTP) management server, including a security table of authorized users, their access levels, and permitted source IP addresses/ports. In terms of monitoring, it lets an administrator confirm the web-management agent's version, verify which accounts and IP ranges are currently authorized to reach the GUI, and check session close-timeout settings, effectively auditing the software configuration and access-control status of the management interface rather than physical hardware. It has no strong dependency on other standard MIBs beyond basic SNMPv2 conventions, since it is a self-contained proprietary extension. It is typically deployed on small-to-midsize managed Ethernet switches from various OEMs that license the RADLAN switch software stack. Engineers can download the RADLAN-EMBWEB-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RADLAN-EMBWEB-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • RADLAN EmbWeb-based OEM Ethernet switch
  • embedded switch management web server

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll rlEmWebSecurityTable/rlEmWebSecurityEntry to review each configured rlEmWebSecurityUserName alongside its rlEmWebSecurityAccess level, rlEmWebSecurityIpAddr, and rlEmWebSecurityPort, confirming that only expected management stations can reach the embedded web GUI. Checking rlEmWebSecuritySnmpVersion and rlEmWebSecurityStatus per entry reveals whether an account has been left enabled with a weaker SNMP version than intended, a common security misconfiguration. rlEmWebCloseTimeout can be read to verify idle web sessions are being terminated promptly. rlEmWebMibVersion and rlEmWebWebSite provide quick identification of the running EmbWeb release and product branding string.

What Can Be Monitored

  • web GUI security/access table entries
  • authorized IP addresses and ports
  • SNMP version per security entry
  • user account enable/access status
  • session close timeout
  • EmbWeb agent version
