What is xModemFileTransferStatusTrap?
This notification event fires when an xModem file transfer session starts, completes successfully, or fails—alerting the operator to the outcome. It provides async notification of firmware or config uploads so the operator doesn't need to poll status constantly. When uploading a critical configuration file, an operator waits for this trap to confirm the transfer completed without errors.
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' RAD-MIB::xModemFileTransferStatusTrap snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.164.6.1.0.22
Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):
snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
