Module: RAD-MIB

OID (symbolic): RAD-MIB::systemTrap

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.164.6.1.3.0.6

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: This trap alerts of major problems in the device.

What is systemTrap?

This is a notification (trap) that alerts the monitoring system when major problems are detected in the device. When fired, it includes information about the event type, LED status, and alarm severity. An operator receives this trap and reacts immediately to investigate and resolve critical hardware or system failures.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' RAD-MIB::systemTrap
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.164.6.1.3.0.6

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:
