Description:
This object defines whether Voice Activation Detector (VAD) will be On or Off. off - will be usually selected when a Modem is connected to the port; not a phone. notApplicable - when prtExVc2DspMode=pointToPoint.
What is prtExVc2VAD?
This OID enables or disables Voice Activation Detection on a voice port, which silences transmission when no speech is detected. It reduces bandwidth for voice calls by not sending silence packets. An operator would turn this on for phone connections to save bandwidth and off for modem connections where constant transmission is needed.
