moduleInitFailTrap

Module: RAD-MIB

OID (symbolic): RAD-MIB::moduleInitFailTrap

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.164.6.1.0.9

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description:

This trap is sent upon a module initialization failure.

What is moduleInitFailTrap?

This OID triggers an alert notification when a hardware module fails to start up properly. When this occurs, the system sends an alarm to the monitoring station. An operator receives this alert and knows they need to physically investigate or reboot the failed module.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' RAD-MIB::moduleInitFailTrap
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.164.6.1.0.9

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
