ethIfCurrentOverflowInMulticastFrames

Module: RAD-MIB

OID (symbolic): RAD-MIB::ethIfCurrentOverflowInMulticastFrames

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.164.3.1.6.1.2.1.1.35

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Gauge32

Access: read-only

Description:

The number of times the associated ethIfCurrentInMulticastFrames counter has overflowed in the current interval.

What is ethIfCurrentOverflowInMulticastFrames?

This gauge counts how many times the associated multicast frame counter has wrapped around (overflowed) during the current measurement interval. Since hardware counters have a maximum size and can roll over, this overflow counter helps operators detect counter wrap events and accurately calculate total traffic. Network engineers use this to ensure they don't miss large traffic volumes when analyzing multicast performance.
