Module: RAD-MIB

OID (symbolic): RAD-MIB::clkSrcChangeTrap

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.164.6.1.0.10

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description:

This trap is sent upon any change in Clock Source.

What is clkSrcChangeTrap?

This is an alert that fires whenever the device switches from one clock source to another (e.g., from a GPS satellite signal to a backup local clock). It warns that timing accuracy or stability may be affected. An administrator receiving this alert should verify that the new clock source is reliable and check for potential synchronization issues.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' RAD-MIB::clkSrcChangeTrap
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.164.6.1.0.10

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:58814->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (491186622) 56 days, 20:24:26.22
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: RAD-MIB::clkSrcChangeTrap
