Description: The Total number of Cells that were dropped in the shaper on that VPC due to EPD\PPD mechanism in the last 15 minutes. This counter automatically reset itself every 15 minutes. Applicable for a EPD/PPD VC only.
What is atmVcShaperTotalEpdDropped?
This counter tracks the total number of ATM cells dropped by the traffic shaper on a Virtual Path/Circuit due to Early Packet Discard (EPD) or Partial Packet Discard (PPD) mechanisms during the last 15-minute interval. Network operators use this metric to monitor congestion handling and adjust traffic policy settings. The counter automatically resets every 15 minutes for consistent period-based analysis.
