OID (symbolic): RAD-MIB::atmAceHwFailure

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.164.6.1.12.0.37

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description:

This trap is sent upon HW failure per port.

What is atmAceHwFailure?

This notification trap is generated when a hardware failure occurs on an ATM interface port, signaling that the port is no longer able to process ATM traffic correctly. The trap includes severity information and the affected interface name. An operations technician receiving this alert would immediately investigate the failing ATM card, verify service impact, and initiate replacement or repair procedures to restore service.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' RAD-MIB::atmAceHwFailure
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.164.6.1.12.0.37

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:58180->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (268085060) 31 days, 0:40:50.60
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: RAD-MIB::atmAceHwFailure

SNMPv3 example:

snmptrap -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3user -a SHA -A "AuthPass1" -x AES -X "PrivPass1" <manager> '' RAD-MIB::atmAceHwFailure
