atmAceAlarmCluster

Module: RAD-MIB

OID (symbolic): RAD-MIB::atmAceAlarmCluster

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.164.6.1.12.0.36

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description:

This trap is sent upon atmNteAlarmType start or end, for a cluster of VPs/VCs (according to atmNteLevel) with the same alarm on the same physical port.

This trap replaces sending the same alarm for a big quantity (the quantity described in the product specification document) of VPs/VCs in order to prevent flooding the NMS and the network with traps.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' RAD-MIB::atmAceAlarmCluster
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.164.6.1.12.0.36

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:54226->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (513623506) 59 days, 10:43:55.06
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: RAD-MIB::atmAceAlarmCluster
