This parameter determines the period of time (in seconds) the alarm of the alarmForwardingFailPort should exist before starting alarm forwarding.

What is alarmForwardingDelay?

This parameter (in seconds) specifies how long a fault condition must persist on the alarmForwardingFailPort before the device starts forwarding that alarm to management systems. It prevents brief transient faults from flooding the operations center with false alarms. An NOC team might set this to 30 seconds for trunk interfaces so that momentary line noise doesn't trigger alerts, while using 5 seconds for critical control ports.
