Module: RAD-MIB

OID (symbolic): RAD-MIB::alarmFEBE

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.164.6.1.3.0.12

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description:

This trap indicates FEBE.

What is alarmFEBE?

This notification trap indicates the detection of Far End Block Errors (FEBE) on a RAD device, meaning transmission errors are being reported by the far end of the communication link. FEBE signals indicate that the remote equipment has detected problems with incoming data and is reporting them back. Operators use this alarm to coordinate troubleshooting efforts with the remote site and identify transmission path issues.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' RAD-MIB::alarmFEBE
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.164.6.1.3.0.12

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:62136->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (41907896) 4 days, 20:24:38.96
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: RAD-MIB::alarmFEBE
