Module: RAD-MIB

OID (symbolic): RAD-MIB::agnPowerFailureTrap

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.164.6.1.0.13

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description:

This trap is sent upon power failure. It is applicable for the following devices: 1. Devices having one PS unit, which sense the failure in advance, and still have time to send this trap before it goes off. 2. Devices having 2 PS units and send this trap in order to notify a failure in one of the units.

What is agnPowerFailureTrap?

This SNMP notification is sent whenever the device detects a failure in one or more of its power supply units, informing management stations of potential power system problems. For single power supply devices, it indicates imminent shutdown before loss of power; for redundant supplies, it signals failure of one unit in a multi-supply configuration. Operators use this trap to initiate failover procedures, schedule maintenance, or notify data center teams of power issues.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' RAD-MIB::agnPowerFailureTrap
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.164.6.1.0.13

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
