What Is QOS-MIB?
QOS-MIB is a vendor-specific SNMP module for Quanta Computer network switches, part of the Quanta "Flex" switch software package, covering Quality of Service management. It exposes configuration-oriented data such as global QoS enable/disable state, traffic class definitions, and the mapping of QoS policies onto individual switch ports. Its primary monitoring value is software/configuration status rather than hardware health: administrators use it to confirm QoS policies are correctly applied per port and that traffic classification rules are active as intended, which indirectly supports troubleshooting of interface performance and congestion issues. It typically works alongside standard interface MIBs (IF-MIB) since QoS policies are applied against ifIndex-referenced ports. It is deployed in enterprise or data center networks using Quanta-branded switches to manage traffic prioritization, and administrators new to the platform often open QOS-MIB in a MIB Browser first to see its full object hierarchy before scripting automated polling.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in QOS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
What Can Be Monitored
- QoS global enable status
- traffic class configuration
- per-port policy assignment
- policy application status
Supported Devices
- Quanta Computer switches, entire product line (Flex package QoS management)
Monitoring Examples
Since no concrete sample objects were provided for this module, no specific object or table names can be cited; based on the module description, a real deployment would poll per-port QoS policy binding objects and traffic-class tables to verify that a given switch port is enforcing the expected priority queue for voice or video traffic. An anomaly such as a port reverting to a default (best-effort) traffic class instead of its configured QoS policy would signal a configuration or policy-application fault. This module should be treated as configuration state rather than a rich performance-counter MIB.
