Description: Provides BATM Advanced Communication historical performance statistics collection with configurable sample intervals.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is PRVT-STATISTICS-HISTORY-MIB?
PRVT-STATISTICS-HISTORY-MIB is a BATM Advanced Communication proprietary MIB providing historical performance statistics collection, functionally similar to the standard RMON2-MIB but addressing metrics via XPath 1.0 strings instead of fixed OIDs. It exposes configurable statistics-history profiles and control entries that define which performance metrics are sampled, at what interval, and how they are stored for later retrieval. Its monitoring value is performance-trend visibility -- letting an operator build a history of traffic or system performance counters over time to detect gradual degradation, capacity trends, or intermittent problems that a single snapshot poll would miss. It explicitly models itself on RMON2-MIB's history-collection concept while substituting XPath-based metric addressing, showing a direct conceptual dependency on that standard. It is deployed on BATM Advanced Communication carrier equipment, where PRVT-STATISTICS-HISTORY-MIB SNMP monitoring supports customizable, long-term performance trend data beyond basic interface counters.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in PRVT-STATISTICS-HISTORY-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- BATM Advanced Communication carrier network equipment
Monitoring Examples
An operator would define a prvtStatHistProfileTable entry with a prvtStatHistProfileXPathTemplate pointing at a specific performance metric, then create a prvtStatHistControlTable entry (prvtStatHistControlId) referencing that profile with a chosen prvtStatHistGetInterval to start historical sampling. Setting prvtStatHistProfileRowStatus or prvtStatHistControlRowStatus to active begins collection, while prvtStatHistShutdown can globally disable history gathering. Reviewing collected samples over successive intervals would reveal whether a monitored counter (e.g. error rate or utilization) is trending upward toward a threshold.
What Can Be Monitored
- configurable performance statistics profiles
- sampling interval
- historical metric collection control
- statistics collection enable/shutdown state
