prvtStatHistControlFirstDataId

Module: PRVT-STATISTICS-HISTORY-MIB

OID (symbolic): PRVT-STATISTICS-HISTORY-MIB::prvtStatHistControlFirstDataId

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.738.1.5.180.1.5.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-only

Description: prvtStatHistDataTable has maximum 120 elements. This restriction is due to hardware limitation. prvtStatHistControlFirstDataId will define first valid index in prvtStatHistDataTable table thus making constantly increasing prvtStatHistDataId more predicatable for management systems. Value should be treated as unsigned 64 bits integer

What is prvtStatHistControlFirstDataId?

This read-only OCTET STRING, treated as an unsigned 64-bit integer, gives the first valid index currently present in the 120-entry-max data table for this control entry, letting management systems track the always-increasing data ID space despite the hardware's fixed table size. An admin or NMS uses it to know where to start polling historical samples without missing entries that have aged out. For example, if entries 1-119 have rolled off, this object reports the current oldest valid ID, such as 120, so a poller knows where to resume.
