Category: System Management, Vendor: RADLAN/Cisco SB

Description: Manages the TCP/IP base infrastructure stack parameters on Radlan switch platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is RADLAN-TBI-MIB?

RADLAN-TBI-MIB (Time-Based Infrastructure) is a Marvell/RADLAN private enterprise MIB that defines named time ranges used elsewhere in a RADLAN-based switch's configuration, for example to make ACLs or other policies active only during specified periods. It exposes an absolute time-range table (named ranges with start/end timestamps, active status, and row status for creating/deleting entries) and a periodic time-range table defining recurring windows by weekday list and start/stop times. This is a scheduling/configuration MIB rather than a hardware or performance MIB: it confirms time-based policies (such as a time-restricted ACL) are active or inactive at the expected moments, and a range whose active status doesn't match wall-clock expectation indicates a misconfigured schedule or a switch clock/NTP problem. It has no apparent dependency on other standard MIBs beyond relying on the switch's system clock being correctly set. It is typically deployed on RADLAN-based switches applying time-of-day-restricted access control lists or other scheduled policies. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the RADLAN-TBI-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RADLAN-TBI-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Marvell/RADLAN-based managed Ethernet switch
  • OEM switches licensing the RADLAN software stack

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would check rlTBITimeRangeTable/rlTBITimeRangeEntry for a named range, comparing rlTBITimeRangeAbsoluteStart and rlTBITimeRangeAbsoluteEnd against the current time and rlTBITimeRangeActiveStatus to confirm the range activated as scheduled. For recurring schedules, rlTBIPeriodicTable/rlTBIPeriodicEntry's rlTBIPeriodicWeekDayList and rlTBIPeriodicStart would be checked to verify a weekday-based policy (e.g., business-hours-only guest access) covers the intended days/times. If rlTBITimeRangeActiveStatus never toggles as expected, it usually points to the switch's system clock being out of sync.

What Can Be Monitored

  • named time-range active status
  • absolute time range start/end
  • periodic (recurring) time range weekday schedule
  • periodic time range start time
