Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Description: The identifier string for the SONET port

What is sonetPortIdString?

This holds a free-form identifier string an admin can assign to a SONET port for their own reference. It's typically used to record a circuit ID, carrier reference number, or descriptive label so the port is easier to identify during troubleshooting. Unlike most objects in this table, its content is entirely up to the operator rather than being derived from hardware state.
