ringPortNodeId

Module: PORT-MIB

OID (symbolic): PORT-MIB::ringPortNodeId

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5812.3.8.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This defines the temporal discovery of the node in the logical ring

What is ringPortNodeId?

This defines the temporal discovery identifier for this node within the logical ring, used as part of how nodes discover their position and order on the ring. An admin assigns a unique node ID, from 0 to 31, to each node so the ring topology can be correctly established. Duplicate or misassigned node IDs would confuse the ring's topology discovery process.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5812.3.8.1.7
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> PORT-MIB::ringPortNodeId

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5812.3.8.1.7.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> PORT-MIB::ringPortNodeId.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5812.3.8.1.7.1 i <value>
