Description: Number of bad frames (due to parity error) dropped.

What is etherPortStatsTxDropParityError?

This counts frames dropped due to a parity error on the transmit path, as opposed to being sent out corrupted. It pairs with etherPortStatsTxBadParityError to distinguish frames that were discarded versus ones transmitted despite the error. Both counters climbing together on one port strongly suggests failing hardware on that specific interface.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5812.3.3.1.21
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> PORT-MIB::etherPortStatsTxDropParityError

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5812.3.3.1.21.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> PORT-MIB::etherPortStatsTxDropParityError.1
