etherPortStatsTxDropJamError

Module: PORT-MIB

OID (symbolic): PORT-MIB::etherPortStatsTxDropJamError

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5812.3.3.1.25

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter

Access: read-only

Description: Number of bad frames (due to Jam Bit Error) dropped.

What is etherPortStatsTxDropJamError?

This counts frames dropped, rather than transmitted, due to a Jam Bit Error condition. It is the drop-side counterpart to etherPortStatsTxBadJamError. As with the other bad/drop counter pairs on this port, seeing both increase together confirms an underlying half-duplex jam-signaling hardware issue rather than a one-off glitch.
