What is dsxStatus?

This reports DSx (DS1/DS3) line status events as a set of declared and cleared failure conditions covering things like receive/transmit RAI, AIS, loss of signal, loss of frame, unavailable seconds, excessive zeros, and pulse density violations. It's accessible-for-notify, meaning it exists mainly to carry the current alarm value inside the dsxAlarm trap rather than being polled directly. An admin receiving a dsxAlarm trap would read this value to determine exactly which failure, such as dsx-los-failure-declared(9), was declared or cleared on that DS1 port.
