What Is PERIBIT-GLOBAL-TC?

PERIBIT-GLOBAL-TC is a Peribit Networks (a WAN optimization/traffic-shaping appliance vendor later acquired by Juniper Networks) support MIB that defines shared textual conventions used across all of Peribit's other enterprise MIB modules, rather than exposing any monitorable objects itself. It contains only TEXTUAL-CONVENTION type definitions -- common enumerations, string formats, or numeric types -- that other Peribit MIBs import to keep data representations consistent across their WAN-optimization product line. As a pure type-definition module it has no OIDs corresponding to real-time hardware or software status such as uptime, temperature, CPU load, or interface counters; those live in the sibling Peribit MIBs that import these conventions. It is a foundational dependency for other Peribit enterprise MIBs, which reference it for shared data types rather than duplicating definitions. It is deployed conceptually wherever Peribit WAN optimization appliances are managed via SNMP, though this specific module itself is never polled for data. Engineers can download the PERIBIT-GLOBAL-TC file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in PERIBIT-GLOBAL-TC. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Peribit Networks WAN optimization appliance (supporting module only, not directly polled)

Monitoring Examples

This module defines no runtime objects (no sample_objects were found), so there is no realistic monitoring scenario to describe -- it exists purely to be imported by other Peribit MIBs for shared textual-convention type definitions. An admin would never poll PERIBIT-GLOBAL-TC directly; the actual monitorable objects (appliance/interface/performance counters) live in other Peribit modules that reference these conventions.
