Category: Products/Registration

Description: Defines the SMI subtree structure for Ericsson IP DSLAM line-test and diagnostic MIB modules.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is PEA-LINE-TEST-SMI?

PEA-LINE-TEST-SMI is an Ericsson IP DSLAM Structure of Management Information (SMI) module that solely defines the OID subtree structure under which the vendor's line-test and diagnostic MIB modules are organized; it contains no runtime data objects itself. As a pure registration/SMI module it does not expose interfaces, environmental sensors, performance counters, or fault objects directly, but instead anchors the namespace used by companion line-test MIBs. It therefore has no direct role in monitoring hardware or software status on its own, serving only as scaffolding for other modules that do. Its dependency is entirely on the parent Ericsson/Diax enterprise OID tree and any companion line-test MIB modules it registers. It is used wherever Ericsson Diax IP DSLAM line-test MIB modules are deployed, as a shared naming convention rather than a standalone management interface. Engineers can download the PEA-LINE-TEST-SMI file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in PEA-LINE-TEST-SMI. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Ericsson Diax IP DSLAM
  • DSL access multiplexer

Monitoring Examples

This module contains no sample data objects (its sample_objects list is empty) — it is a structural SMI definition, not a source of pollable monitoring data. Any monitoring scenario would instead be built against the companion line-test MIB modules that register OIDs under this tree, such as diagnostic test-result or line-test-status MIBs. There is no realistic polling scenario for PEA-LINE-TEST-SMI itself.
