All MIBs › PBDG-MIB
Category: DSL and Broadband
Description: Manages the Polycom broadband DSL gateway device, providing WAN link status, DSL line parameters, and LAN port statistics.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is PBDG-MIB?
PBDG-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB for a Polycom broadband DSL gateway device, used as a customer-premises router/gateway providing DSL WAN connectivity to a LAN. It exposes datagram-level traffic counters (sent/received packets, bus timeouts, error status) per logical datagram interface, plus device configuration data including a master clock setting used to synchronize the gateway's internal bus/timing. Its monitoring role covers both traffic and hardware/software status - datagram error status and clock status objects reveal internal bus or synchronization faults on the gateway, while sent/received packet counters show WAN link utilization and potential packet loss via bus timeouts. This is a self-contained enterprise MIB without evident dependency on standard IETF MIBs for its DSL/gateway-specific objects. It's deployed as an embedded management interface on Polycom DSL gateway units at customer premises or small-office network edges. Engineers can download the PBDG-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in PBDG-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices

Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll pbdgDatagramTable/pbdgDatagramEntry by pbdgDatagramIndex to check pbdgDatagramErrorStatus and pbdgDatagramBusTimeOuts, which would reveal internal bus communication problems on the gateway distinct from WAN link issues. pbdgDatagramSentPkts and pbdgDatagramRcvdPkts give traffic counters for that datagram interface, and pbdgCfgTable's pbdgCfgMasterClock (via pbdgCfgIndex) shows which clock source the unit is configured to synchronize against - a mismatch here can explain intermittent datagram clock-status faults.
What Can Be Monitored
- datagram sent/received packet counts
- bus timeout errors
- datagram error status
- clock/synchronization status
- master clock configuration
