Category: CPE/Router

Description: Manages Group Domain of Interpretation (GDOI) IPsec group key management on OneAccess CPE routers.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ONEACCESS-GDOI-MIB?

This is a OneAccess enterprise MIB for managing the Group Domain of Interpretation (GDOI) protocol on OneAccess CPE routers, used for group-based IPsec key management (GET VPN-style deployments) where multiple routers share encryption keys via a key server. It exposes group configuration objects (group name, group ID type/value), group-member (GM) state objects (member ID type/value, registered key server ID, active Key Encryption Key, and count of rekeys received), and a policy subtree. Monitoring this MIB is centered on the software/protocol status of the group VPN membership, tracking whether a group member has successfully registered with its key server and is receiving rekey updates, which reveals key-server connectivity problems or stale key material that would break group encryption. It depends on the GDOI protocol standard (RFC 6407) and the underlying IPsec/IKE infrastructure it manages keys for. Typical deployment is on OneAccess CPE routers participating in an enterprise or carrier group-encryption VPN mesh, monitored through the ONEACCESS-GDOI-MIB MIB.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ONEACCESS-GDOI-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • OneAccess CPE router

Monitoring Examples

An operator would check oacGdoiGroupTable/oacGdoiGroupEntry for oacGdoiGroupName and oacGdoiGroupIdValue to confirm group membership configuration, then poll oacGdoiGmTable/oacGdoiGmEntry for oacGdoiGmRegKeyServerIdValue and oacGdoiGmActiveKEK to verify the group member has registered with a live key server and holds a current key. An oacGdoiGmRekeysReceived counter that stops incrementing while the key server continues issuing rekeys would indicate the GM has lost contact with the key server, risking encrypted traffic disruption once the current KEK expires.

What Can Be Monitored

  • group membership configuration
  • key server registration status
  • active Key Encryption Key (KEK)
  • count of rekeys received
  • group member ID association
