Category: Products/Registration

Description: Defines product registration OIDs for Network Alchemy VPN and firewall appliance product lines.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is NETAL-PRODUCTS?

NETAL-PRODUCTS is a Network Alchemy MIB module (Network Alchemy was a VPN/firewall appliance vendor later acquired by Nokia) that exists solely to register product identifier OIDs for its VPN and firewall appliance product line. It defines no runtime data objects of its own; its role is purely as a product-registration/branching module rather than a source of interface, environmental, performance, or fault data. Because of this, it has no direct role in monitoring hardware or software status — those objects live in sibling MIBs, with this module's identifiers surfacing indirectly as the sysObjectID a Network Alchemy appliance reports. Its only dependency is structural, on the enterprise SMI arc under which it is registered. In deployment it appears only indirectly, letting a management station identify the specific Network Alchemy VPN/firewall model in use. Engineers can download the NETAL-PRODUCTS file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in NETAL-PRODUCTS. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Network Alchemy VPN/firewall appliance

Monitoring Examples

This module contains no monitorable objects (sample_objects is empty); it is solely a set of product OID definitions used to populate sysObjectID on Network Alchemy appliances so management systems can identify the specific product model. There is no runtime polling scenario to describe honestly beyond device-model identification via sysObjectID.
