Category: Hardware Inventory

Description: Defines NBS CMMC enumeration types for card type and interface classification.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is NBS-CMMCENUM-MIB?

NBS-CMMCENUM-MIB is a companion enumeration/textual-convention module for NBS-CMMC-MIB, an NBS optical-networking product-line MIB, explicitly described as defining "frequently updated lists" — i.e., enumerated values for card types and interface classifications used elsewhere. As an enumeration module it does not itself expose runtime scalar or tabular data objects to poll; instead it supplies the value definitions (which integer corresponds to which card or interface type) that the main NBS-CMMC-MIB tables reference. Because it carries no live counters or status objects, it has no direct monitoring role for uptime, temperature, CPU, or fault status — that data lives in NBS-CMMC-MIB itself, which this module supports by keeping the type enumerations current as new card/interface types are introduced. It is entirely dependent on, and meaningless without, the parent NBS-CMMC-MIB module. It is deployed as part of the NBS optical transport/chassis product management MIB suite alongside NBS-CMMC-MIB. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the NBS-CMMCENUM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in NBS-CMMCENUM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • NBS optical transport/chassis equipment

Monitoring Examples

This module defines only enumerated card-type and interface-type value lists (textual conventions) referenced by NBS-CMMC-MIB tables; it has no scalar or tabular runtime objects of its own, so there is no direct monitoring scenario — actual card/interface status is polled from NBS-CMMC-MIB using these enumerations to interpret the values.
