Category: Traffic Shaping

Description: Configures QoS policies and traffic prioritization on Meru Networks WLAN controllers.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is MERU-CONFIG-QOS-MIB?

MERU-CONFIG-QOS-MIB is a Meru Networks (later Fortinet) proprietary MIB configuring Quality-of-Service and call-admission-control on Meru WLAN controllers. Its objects cover a global QoS on/off, admission-control enable, drop policy, default/UDP/TCP TTL, bandwidth-scaling percentage, max calls per AP/interference-region/BSSID, load-balance max stations per AP/BSSID and overflow setting, CAC deauthentication flag, station-assignment age, SIP idle timeout, and a QoS-rule table (index, DSCP, destination/source IP and mask, action). As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm call-admission-control limits and DSCP-based QoS rules on a Meru WLAN controller. It is deployed on Meru Networks (Fortinet) WLAN controllers. Engineers can download the MERU-CONFIG-QOS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in MERU-CONFIG-QOS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Meru Networks (Fortinet) WLAN controllers

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks mwQosVarsQosMaxCallsPerAp and mwQosRuleDscp to confirm call-admission-control limits and QoS classification on a Meru WLAN controller.

What Can Be Monitored

  • QoS call-admission-control limits and DSCP rule configuration
