What Is MERU-TC?

MERU-TC is a textual-conventions support MIB for Meru Networks, a wireless LAN infrastructure vendor, defining shared data types used across Meru's enterprise WLAN management MIBs. As a TC-only module it does not itself expose any scalar or tabular runtime objects; it standardizes type definitions (such as enumerations for device states, radio parameters, or entity types) that other Meru WLAN MIBs use when defining their own managed objects for access points, controllers, and radio interfaces. Developers and NMS integrators treat the MERU-TC reference conventions as the canonical source for enumerated state and radio-parameter values when interpreting objects defined in other Meru WLAN MIBs. It therefore carries no direct hardware or software status data itself — no uptime, temperature, or client-count objects — those are defined in the Meru MIBs that import these conventions. Its dependency is on the broader Meru enterprise MIB family for WLAN infrastructure management. It would be loaded as a prerequisite alongside other Meru MIBs when managing Meru wireless LAN controllers and access points.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in MERU-TC. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples

MERU-TC contains only textual-convention type definitions with no sample runtime objects, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe honestly — it is a supporting types module, not a data-bearing one. Actual monitoring of Meru WLAN controller or access-point hardware/software status would be performed through the companion Meru MIBs that reference these type definitions.
