MEMOTEC-SMI

Defines the enterprise OID and SMI structure root for Memotec network devices.

MEMOTEC-SMI is a foundational Structure-of-Management-Information module that registers the enterprise OID tree for Memotec, a vendor of data/voice networking and multiplexer equipment. Rather than defining runtime data objects, it establishes top-level branches, memotec, memotecExperimental, memotecProducts, memotecAdmin, ems221Trap, and cxProduct, under which Memotec's actual device MIBs register their managed objects and traps. As a pure SMI/registration module it has no monitorable hardware or software status objects of its own; any monitoring of uptime, temperature, CPU load, or fault conditions occurs in the specific product MIBs, such as those for the EMS221 or CX product lines, that hang off this tree. It has an inherent dependency relationship with every Memotec product-specific MIB, since they all import their OID roots from this module. It is not deployed for direct monitoring but is referenced indirectly whenever a Memotec CX-series or EMS221 device MIB is loaded into an SNMP manager. Engineers can download the MEMOTEC-SMI file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

This module is a conformance/structural OID-registration MIB, not a data-bearing MIB, so it defines no runtime objects to poll. Its only content is the OID subtree roots (memotec, memotecProducts, memotecAdmin, ems221Trap, cxProduct) that downstream Memotec device MIBs build on; monitoring happens in those product MIBs, not here.
