What Is ME1200-TT-LOOP-MIB?
This is a Cisco ME1200 Metro Ethernet access switch MIB for Traffic Test Loop (TT-Loop) functionality, used for Ethernet OAM service-activation testing per RFC 2544 and ITU-T Y.1564, in the carrier Ethernet service-assurance technology area. It exposes capability limits (maximum number/name length of test-loop instances) and per-instance test-loop configuration such as direction, domain, flow, port, and level. Monitoring here is about verifying software-configured test facilities rather than hardware sensors: an operator checks me1200TtLoopConfigInstanceTable entries to confirm a remote-end test loop is correctly provisioned (type, direction, port) before running a throughput/frame-loss test. It builds on Ethernet OAM/CFM domain-and-level concepts from IEEE 802.1ag/ITU-T Y.1731, referenced by me1200TtLoopConfigInstanceDomain/Level. It is deployed on Cisco ME1200 metro Ethernet access switches used by service providers for RFC 2544/Y.1564 service-activation and turn-up testing. Engineers can download the ME1200-TT-LOOP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ME1200-TT-LOOP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco ME1200 Metro Ethernet access switch
Monitoring Examples
A technician provisioning a new circuit would create an entry in me1200TtLoopConfigInstanceTable (via me1200TtLoopConfigInstanceId), setting me1200TtLoopConfigInstanceType, me1200TtLoopConfigInstanceDirection, and me1200TtLoopConfigInstancePort to loop traffic back at the remote end. Before adding further test instances, they would confirm me1200TtLoopCapabilitiesInstanceMax has not been exceeded.
What Can Be Monitored
- configured test-loop instances
- test-loop direction/type/port
- OAM domain and level of test loop
- maximum supported test-loop instances
