Description: HP ICF SNMP MIB for Uplink Failure Detection (UFD) monitoring uplinks and disabling downstream ports upon uplink failure on HP ProCurve switches.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HP-ICF-UFD-MIB?

HP-ICF-UFD-MIB is an HP Networking proprietary MIB implementing Uplink Failure Detection (UFD), which automatically disables designated downstream ports when a switch loses all of its monitored uplinks — signaling downstream devices (e.g., in a NIC-teaming setup) to fail over. Its objects cover a global admin status and notification-track-ID, and a track table (ID, entity type, links-to-monitor, links-to-transition, monitor/transition link state, entity state, row status), alongside a tracked-link table (ifIndex, link role, auto-disabled/auto-enabled transition flags). As a configuration/status MIB it lets an administrator confirm which downstream ports automatically disable when an uplink group fails, and watch for a triggered failover. It is deployed on HP Networking switches with Uplink Failure Detection. Engineers can download the HP-ICF-UFD-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HP-ICF-UFD-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • HP Networking switches (Uplink Failure Detection)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks hpicfUfdLtDAutoDisabled to confirm downstream ports correctly disabled after an uplink group failure, triggering a NIC-teaming failover on an HP switch.

What Can Be Monitored

  • uplink group state and downstream port failover
