Category: FDDI and Token Ring

Description: Vendor-specific FDDI MIB extension providing additional optical and station management objects for FDDI network adapters.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is LINKB-OPT-FDDI-MIB-1-1-2?

LINKB-OPT-FDDI-MIB-1-1-2 is a legacy proprietary MIB (enterprise OID 43, built on the DRAFT-FDDI-MIB) defining optional FDDI SMT (Station Management) entries beyond the base snmpFddiSMTNumber count. Its optional-SMT table, keyed by index, records manufacturer OUI/data, hold state, set count, and last-set station ID, a MAC-bridge-function table records supported bridge functions per MAC, a MAC transmission-priority table records eight priority-level (0-6) settings per MAC, and a PATH ring table extends ring-level detail. As a configuration/status MIB it lets an administrator confirm optional FDDI SMT attributes (bridge function, transmission priority) on a legacy FDDI station. It is deployed on legacy FDDI network equipment implementing this optional-entries extension. Engineers can download the LINKB-OPT-FDDI-MIB-1-1-2 file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in LINKB-OPT-FDDI-MIB-1-1-2. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Legacy FDDI network equipment (optional SMT entries)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks lbOptMACTPri0 through lbOptMACTPri6 to confirm transmission-priority settings on a legacy FDDI station's MAC.

What Can Be Monitored

  • optional FDDI SMT bridge-function and priority settings
